LENT PERIOD

Christians fast too, though it is not publicized or printed on calendars.  For those who did not know, the lent period is almost over. The church of Christ is challenged to put themselves in supplication. Since lent is comes before Easter, we are supposed to reflect in Jesus Christ’s life of simplicity. He was not any kind of leader; He is than a role model. During Easter we are sorrowful of the way that our sins were taken away by the death of the son of God.  You do not have to apply ash on your skin all season, but about cleaning your heart. For everything you ask God to forgive you, Jesus suffered for it on the cross in Calvary, so that you secure a place in heaven. This is the time where you develop connection with the Lord’s suffering. Fasting should be done for 40 days. In Hebrew, 40 means an idea of completeness or a foundation for something to follow.

Temptations will arise during this period. The devil is always looking to get you away from the path of salvation. Guard your thoughts. Exercise the fruits of the Holy Spirit:  Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Meekness, Self-control/ Longsuffering, Faith, gentleness, Temperance and goodness. Be filled with the Holy Sprit. During fasting you are supposed to forgo most of your luxuries, even sacrifice some basic needs. Empathize with those who have less than you. Many people world wide have one meal a day, others walk to work daily. Not that they are beggars, some people do not buy shoes weekly, monthly others not even after two years. If it won’t kill you, stop, pornography, over indulging or unnecessary spending. If you can go without a meal or two a day is fine. Do it to praise God. Seek Him through prayer. Do not jump in both feet if you are new to the concept.  Take it step by step first prepare your mind. Try with reading more pages the Bible a daily instead of browsing social media gossip and pray after each session. The money you may collect save it to spend during the short Easter weekend or give it as thanksgiving offering to church. Do not expect to be on the receiving side but be the giver. This is the time to be a servant of good deeds.  

At the end of the day, give God thanks for your life, count all your blessings. After a successful episode, share your testimony it may strengthen somebody else. When you feel cranky go meditate. Think about the happiness you will experience in paradise. Take fasting seriously. Make it a very important part of your life. You are going to be a transformed being after enduring it. Doors to a new beginning will be opened. The best part is a revelation of God’s plans for your future. All your prayers are going to be heard and answered. All will be well just open up to God about the desires of your heart. Believe that God loves you very much to let Jesus Christ die for your sins: Repent! Most of all accept that Jesus Christ said it was over and he released you from the devil’s chains. The redeemer and savior is alive! Happy Easter!    

MADAM PRESIDENT

A few women have tried to win the coveted presidency, quite dangerous per Kenyan standards. Women be encouraged to wipe off the make up, tie back the wigs and put on comfortable shoes. The aggressive ones have been called bossy a name that is today being debated as inappropriate. Research shows that Women and youth carry most weight as voters. Fact is these women and youth are not willing to be governed by a ‘weaker gender’ Am not sexist but I wonder how would everything be if a lady was managing things. Ladies are very organized, committed and serious when it comes to work. They grow up knowing to take caution and have direction with everything they do.

No doubt we have seen women carry loads heavier than their bodies. They keep in a lot of secrets, complaints and pains. When challenges knock they don’t hide in their skirts and can totally take explosions. Thing is women are judged by their weakness of coming out too strong. True sometimes they are moody, emotional or gullible .Stand up clean up the streets and take out the stink bombs. You have the voice to roar louder. People never give women credit where it’s due. They are loving, forgiving, loyal and stick by you, know matter what. Life being a game of inches they have chosen battles and friends wisely. They have a big picture out of a small budget. Giving has always been in their to-do list, you agree she gave birth to you, gave you most basic needs and good years of your youth. Bless her, honor her and give her the fruits of her hands. Support her now when she needs to be rewarded and on the receiving end. Share her footsteps and embrace their efforts to create a worthy household. Even when things seem blink she will fear God and give him glory.  Blasphemy and shortcuts are not in her conduct. Courage and sobriety are some of her virtues. Style, creativity and intuition are her best traits.

Let the women inherit the throne of leadership officially. Many nights they half slept to nurse her infant cubs. During the day they broke sweat to search for pastures. All their life they never disappoint by giving up their dreams, keeping away from fun to support others. Going out of their time to sacrifice their body and soul to make sure all is well. I admire they put their pride aside; get their hands dirty to make ends meet. History writers mention that without the help of spies World War 2 and Mau Mau would not have passed. These spies were women who would not raise suspicion. Unfortunately they retired home to cater for their men.  Skilled with multi tasking they manage to do house chores and report to the office. The are fast learners too.  Enough shadow participation. Let us not weigh their ability by the size of their chests. Stop persecuting them for loosing charms or beauty. Give them the opportunity to bring balance and sanity in the system. And let her own works praise her in the gates.

ENOGH MAMBO JAMBO

There were nine planets in the universe. Earth is the only planet with many living creatures. Moon and Mars can sustain some life forms according to fictional movies. The atmosphere has too much space to accommodate gazillion of things. I don’t mean to question the Almighty but why did put human beings, animals, plants and other creatures of all types on earth? For peaceful coexistence different things should have been evenly distributed into specific planets, but it isn’t so.   I mean, why are we in one world people of different races, colors, sizes, ages, in the same place? There is a reason why God put it that way and does things without our consent. Do not revile God, if He showed Himself to us no one would want to talk to him because of His might, there is that feared boundary. One thing is clear, for those who believe in some form of religion, there are God’s commandments. The Commandments were given to the Prophet Moses to be passed to a stiff necked people. You shall not murder referred to ‘Do not kill’. God spoke these from heaven warning us. ‘’He who strikes a man to die, shall be put to death. If a man acts in premeditation against his neighbor, to kill him by treachery, you shall take him to my Altar that he may die. But then if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life: eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. ‘’-It is written.

We are a world divided; religious, political, other beliefs. Even the one doctrine set of laws that was supposed to set life straight has been broken. Greed, hate, idolism have driven people fro true worship of the most High. Individuals are thinking of their selfish needs totally ignoring their neighbor’s well being. There is no compassion. Everybody is looking to manage their own space and do their own things inside their fences. Strange enough anger and wicked desires have made people to follow evil crowds due to circulation of false reports. The unrighteous have become oppressors to the poor. These beasts justify the wicked and reward the perverts. They have maimed, hurt even killed women and children. What will they gain after they eradicate the strangers? Jesus Christ came and summarized the laws into two echoing God, echoing Love. He further advised to keep away from war but spread pure knowledge, forgiveness and understanding. He did not carry spears nor swords forcing people to like Him.

Those who see themselves mighty enough should pack and leave earth. If they want to live in higher places and worship their ideologies they can go to the moon or Mars and set up base there. I am sure they can create their own oxygen, plants and water to sustain their lives. If you are unhappy you will not get better by killing a threat.  God hears the cries of the afflicted; He will be an adversary to your adversaries. Prophet Moses killed an enemy of his people but he was delivered by God. We are not angels neither are we holy. Do not take anger into heart. Do not pass false judgment to others. Stop this persecution. After all after death our skin color fades, our tribes disappear and we all have the same skeletal structure. Only the Almighty can cleanse the world of its inequities. He is the Judge and Juror.  

DEWORMING WORKS

In my compound there is a dog, he does not belong to me. There is a chicken shed, since Kenyans have embraced bird rearing, again not mine. A while back I took a short course on veterinary a little on industrial agrarian technology. So I picked up the signs of a creature hosting parasites. Dewormers should be taken after two or three months applies to humans and animals. When was the last time you dewormed? Which are the best deformers? No we don’t have to get the answers today. I think at one point in your life you came upon ringworms, not that they were in your family but maybe in the block or school. Quarantine did not keep them from spreading since cross infection was hard to contain. A child wanted to play with friends, in the park or the playing court. It hurt if a girl had long hair and then cut it off until she healed. Boiling meat such as beef, chicken, pork, fish, and mutton has been encouraged to kill tape worms. Many people do not like boiling meat so as not to overcook it.  Some do not even wash it.  The major source of worms in your stomach is the delicious protein you indulge in. Most of these animals spend time in mud and not so clean environs that is where the worms get in their system. The butchers could also pass on the worms if they handle one infected piece to an uninfected, to your handshake or money.

Back to my humble compound, am trying to get the nerve to ask my neighbors that domestic animals and pets should get dewormed. Kittens and puppies are at times born with worms so the can be dewormed after two weeks of birth, unlike human kids who wait until a later age. Pregnant women or breast feeding women should not take dewormers unless the doctors advices. Worms make people uncomfortable form nausea, weakness, weight loss, diarrhea and abdominal pain; causing illness and diseases. Animals get them too but since they have fur, you may notice patches of fur missing. Dewormers can be liquid, powder, injectable or in pill form. Older people should not have a problem deworming. Children may fight as they do with most medicines. But for animals you could mix it in water or food.  Always wear protective wear like gloves and face masks when feeding animals because some warms are airborne. Remember to wash your hands with soap, disinfectant and lots of clean water. Clean the feeders and watering cans with disinfectant. Do not mix the clothes and boots with other household attire during washing.       

Take very good care of the living beings in your household. Make sure to thoroughly clean meat, fruits and vegetables before cooking and eating. Wash your hands after touching the pets or handling unclean objects. Give vitamins and prebiotics to people and animals. Make sure the living quarters are hygienically clean, tidy and safe. Clear out bushes, stagnant water and mud from your compound. Do not be afraid to consult a doctor and veterinary for medical advice.  Learn how to get rid of germs and bacteria. Use clean drinking water for drinking and cooking and for feeding animals. The Government should campaign deworming just as vigorously against malaria. Dewormers should not scare anyone. But be afraid if hosting worms.

SHINE RAINBOW IN THE STORM

Pity, what a storm

Can feel it through my bone

Sadly I’m all alone

Is there a way to keep warm?

It's becoming difficult and long

Thought it‘ll pass then I move on

Well the friends I once had are gone

Am not myself, no longer strong

What should I do when on my own?

Heavenly father, show me a sign

Praise You Creator, restructure my mind

 Mighty Redeemer, forgive all sins of mine.

I need shining through this storm

It's time for you god, help get home

To dine, out of cold, no longer be alone

I see others smiling,

For me it’s been a while
